Had a scan mouse ages ago... needed it again, so purchased this IRIS mouse. Works easily on the go.Nice little unit... does what it is supposed to do.Mouse scanner is a perfect tool to create all kinds of documents without taking pictures, Editing the scan as text or picture makes it possible to produce documents for printing or digital display from anything I can wave the mouse over. This one works fine with little learning needed.This was my second Iriscan Mouse, as the first one I had began not working after several months and I assumed I broke it somehow. I am now less sure the issue was my fault as this one never worked smoothly and began having serious problems after some time of use.I purchased this one some time ago and had trouble getting the driver set up, but finally got it working. The few times I used it after that, it worked nicely. After the few good times, it began closing the scan before finishing (and it was not even half way through the buffer memory) and required uninstall and reinstall of drivers to keep it working. It became to more trouble then it was worth and I put it away. I really NEEDED to use it again today and tried it again with even more issues. Had to do the drivers AGAIN, then it worked one time (didn't scan very well either) and then it started bogging down and shutting the scan off after a short section (again, the buffer memory was less then half way so it wasn't that). I tried to find a way to find support online or send email or make another form of contact, but the website is NOT set up for customer service. You can search existing questions and suggestions for guidance, but no help or troubleshooting.This would be a great product if it worked. I really need a scanner of this type but will search a different brand this time.I love this user friendly mouse. It doesn't come with much direction, but it was so user friendly that I soon discovered how it worked. I tried opening the software before activating the scanner and soon found that the software activates only once the scanner is in use. It is easy to crop and save the image where you want it. The choices are so clear. Finally I can scan old photos in albums and other items that would be difficult if not impossible to place in a scanner or run through a scanner. The hand motions in using the scanner take a little getting used to, but in no time, I felt comfortable using it.I used the previous version of this scanning mouse. It worked quite well on various receipts and expense records. It would be pushed to its limits and sometimes over them if I had to scan a full page of small-font text. But aside from that, I had a certain use in mind for this scanner mouse and I was happy with how it did the job.I lost that mouse and had bought a replacement, the current version of this mouse several weeks ago. I'm not so happy with it now. First of all, the product no longer includes a protective pouch. It does include a "skin" to change the colour of the mouse, which is a lot less useful. The second problem is, I need to use the mouse on my new laptop, which doesn't have a CD drive, so it's necessary to download the software. And you cannot simply download the software from the website, you have to fill out a request form and the customer support service is quite slow to respond. As a result, I have some papers to scan and I'll have to use some alternative method, while this mouse sits idly on my desk.PROS:+ Works great on Windows 10.+ Quick setup process.+ Scanning a small document takes less than 20 seconds from start to finish.+ Great quality images.+ Color is good.+ Lightweight.+ Built-in editing tools is great and super fast.CONS:+ Scanning large documents feels clunky and slower than a traditional scanner.VERY VERY fast and easy to use for smaller documents such as receipts, playing cards, business cards, photos sticky notes, etc. Much faster than trying to use a traditional scanner for these kinds of things. Also great if you only care to scan a tiny portion of a larger document.I use it as my laptop mouse and like the "scan to dropbox" feature. Every piece of info I want to save (recipe, excerpts or articles) is scanned to dropbox so I can retrieve them from wherever. Really useful! I hope a wireless version will come one day even if the wire does not bother me. It can only be used for one document at a time but does it swiftly and precisely. I showed it to my students and the real time scanning has impressed them very much. Great product overall. Very little can go wrong which is why I gave it a 5 stars.Took a while to install on Windows 10 correctly. Took a bit to get used to using it. My husband loved and has stolen it from me - works great on his Windows 7 laptop.Excellent mouse and very handy as a portable scanner. Very easy to instal on my Mac computers and was used for scanning A3 sized plans which it did well on the medium intensity scan. It ran out of memory on a high quality scan but OK results with medium scan. I don't know why anyone hasn't thought of a scanner mouse before. The included software is OK but I found that some additional editing of the images was required using another software package.This product is rubbish. The mouse comes with a software installation disk which should be compatible with the XP system on my laptop, but it is not. There seems to be no way of downloading the material from the disk onto the computer's hard drive. It does not happen automatically and copying the files does not work either. The product comes with no instructions, not even a basic guide on the box. The box contains a piece of paper pointing users to a website address from which support can be obtained and the software drivers can be downloaded. This address does not exist. The company offers no direct means of communicating with it to ask for technical support. Save your money for another product.Useless, it just does scan. The mouse is to big to get to text in the folds of a book. Even when it does scan it isn't usable it jumps all over the the place so no text is actually legible. I have returned.Great works well with Windows 10Works well on my windows 10 laptop for simple scanning.
